Going to the park is a freedom we all can enjoy, despite ones economic or social status, along with those who have a disability. A philosopher by the name of John Rawls viewed justice as when everyone has a right and equal access to the most extensive liberties. For example, a wealthy family can enjoy all the amenities the park has to offer; however, a family who lives in poverty can also enjoy all the amenities as well. Although there are many differences between these individuals, they both have access to the same public parks.
The parks featured on the webpage are not limited to just what is present. Menomonie, WI has many other parks and recreation (see list at the bottom). All parks close at 11 pm. To visit Menomonie parks website Click Here.

When you visit Estate Emporium LLC, you will find a vast selection of pre-owned items, in wonderful condition, ranging from 1800s furniture, to boxed unused items from the last decade. Estate Emporium LLC is the perfect destination to find unusual, otherwise unavailable, and quality items for home or office.
No matter how you choose to spend your Three Perfect Days here you will create lasting memories for years to come! Young and old and anywhere in between- there is sometime for everyone! Dunn County & Menomonie welcomes you and your family! Have a fun & safe summer! :-)
This water park is easily accessed in the city of Menomonie and contains multiple watersides in both shallow (under 5 ft) pools and deep (8 ft and above) pools, with colored lines in each pool to indicate a depth change. Food can be purchased on the grounds or brought in with guests. No flotation devices, snorkels, pets, fins, alcohol, tobacco, or drugs are allowed.
This park will be open throughout the entire summer (excluding holidays) so there would be plenty of availability for people to use and enjoy the facilities no matter when they come during the summer.
During the summer you can find a wide range of unique and interesting items, each with its own story. Dunn County has a wide variety of antique shops and rummage (e.g. garage, thrift) sales. These places provide an opportunity to reuse, re-purpose, and recycle old items. As the saying goes, “One man’s junk is another person’s treasure”. Reusing, re-purposing, or recycling items helps to cut down on the amount of waste that is going into the landfills. This type of shopping incorporates the idea of building social and cultural capital as we are physically interacting with one another instead of staring at a screen. You may learn or hear amazing stories about specific items or the history of others. You might even gain knowledge or advice on different topics, depending on the situation. What is unique to antique shops, thrift shops, and rummage sales (also known as garage, yard, or estate sales) is that you never know what you will find. In most cases, things are priced reasonably (and there is this “hidden” rule to negotiate on a price of an item if you feel it is unreasonable).
Shopping can lead to conspicuous consumption. Conspicuous consumption is when you purchase things that you don't really need or if you purchase things to increase your status. An example of this is buying a 55" TV not because you need it (you may not), but because you will change the way certain people view you and your "status" in that group. This type of consumption is not always apparent, but it is something to keep in the back of your mind as your shopping. Conspicuous consumption can lead into consumption of things that are detrimental to both you and society.
All are welcome regardless of your income, social status, religious status, or anything else for that matter.
Down by the baseball fields of Wakanda Park on a sunny afternoon, you might find yourself wandering a bit deeper into the trees amidst the Menomonie Lions’ Game Park. This park features a variety of game animals, including elk, deer, and bison, as well as a 20-30 minute self guided tour through the park. The park is annually maintained by the Menomonie Lions’ and we would encourage you to come enjoy a nice walk through the trees and get a close-up look at some of these interesting animals!
Do you have kids? No problem. Menomonie has a wide selection of activities for children, from the fair to the "mini" zoo there is plenty for kids to do. [The options are not limited to these few activities.] In addition, the Dunn County Fair has rich history and it includes plenty of games, food, and rides at the Midway! This is a wonderful place to enjoy the warm summer breeze. Don't forget to wear sunscreen!
Are you hot? Cool off in Menomonie's large waterpark. Do you like to be in nature? Walk around the Game Park (Zoo) and learn facts about the animals and the surrounding areas. The game park does ask the community to NOT feed the animals, since they are on special diets. These activities create an opportunity for kids not only to have fun, but to build imperative skills and learn important concepts, such as building social and cultural capital, learn norms and reflect on morality issues. Also, there are opportunities to work on motor and/or cognitive developmental skills. No matter your age, there is something for you.

Participation can create memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. It can also form social bonds such as new friendships, relationships, etc., which relates to social and cultural capital. This also relates to the carnivalesque idea first articulated by François Rabelais in the 16th century, meaning that festivals (or in this case live entertainment, fairs, bars) operated in highly public spaces can be used to maintain community and social order. Organized social events are a great way to build a stronger community and to welcome new people into local traditions. These are great ways to be a active participant in life and really be in the moment, as opposed to having your head buried in your phone or laptop or engaging in leisure to increase your own social status.
Come to the multiple automobile and tractor events held in the grandstand auditorium at the annual Dunn County Fair! People of all ages would enjoy watching these events. This is a chance to bring the community together to enjoy quality live entertainment. The auditorium is wheelchair friendly and the admission charge is affordable to people of any economic status.
During the races, things can get pretty loud and dusty in the surrounding areas. Some individuals who live close by to the park may want some quiet and prefer that the dust doesn't fly around. How can we combat this issue in Sen's vision of justice? Well, there isn't a perfect solution; however, the Dunn County Fair tries to make sure there is always something for everyone to enjoy. The Dunn County Fair also includes two other stages (the community stage and the free stage). Both stages are filled with many different venues. To find more information about these other stages Click Here.

It is important for you to make the decision on what you should partake in, for everyone values different things. Each person and family is unique. Would it be justice for me to tell you what your perfect three days look like? Amartya Sen, an economist and philosopher, would disagree. He believes that justice depends on what people value, as long as it doesn't impede on others' freedoms and safety.
Our vision statement: Justice is more than what I value. Justice is what YOU value.
